Major works on the construction of a bypass road have begun.

Petro Andriuschenko, the head of the Center for the Study of the Occupation, has said that the Russian occupiers continue their attempts to improve logistics near Mariupol, the CFTS portal reports.

“Indeed, large-scale works on the construction of a bypass road have begun. They are moving simultaneously from two directions – from the Left Bank district through Kalynivka in the direction of the Mariupol-Donetsk highway, and from the Mariupol-Donetsk highway in the direction of the Left Bank district,” he said.

In addition, according to Andriuschenko, construction of a logistics site has begun behind the Illich Iron and Steel Works (northeast of the exit from Mariupol to Donetsk) to connect the railroad and the future bypass road into a single hub.

“However, even at the current pace, the road itself will not be completed until 2027 at the earliest,” he said.
