Russia Preparing to Sell All Ukrainian Assets in Occupied Mariupol Port
Russia’s Territorial Development Fund has inventoried the port’s finished goods and raw materials and initiated a “closed bidding” process.
The Territorial Development Fund of Russia, which essentially manages the financial component of Russia’s colonial policy in the occupied territories, has conducted a full inventory of finished goods and raw materials at the Mariupol port and launched a “closed bidding” process in May. This “closed bidding” process is not conducted through online platforms but rather through corresponding notification schemes for notifying “their own people.”
As reported by the CFTS portal, the head of the Center for the Study of the Occupation, Petro Andriuschenko, announced this in a statement.
“Russia is preparing for an almost open, official plundering of Mariupol—this time officially through closed ‘auctions.’ This is the first time Russia is officially trading in plundered goods openly,” Andriuschenko said.
The Center for the Study of the Occupation obtained access to internal inventory documents from the Port of Mariupol, as well as files containing descriptions and valuations of lots for prospective buyers. According to these documents, at least 202,000 tons of Ukrainian goods with a total estimated value of RUB 6.78 billion have been prepared for sale.
“The actual value is even higher than RUB 6.78 billion. In dollars, that is approximately USD 85 million. In euros, it is about EUR 74–75 million. These are not ‘found property,’ not ‘reserves,’ or ‘the republic’s leftover stock.’ They are Ukrainian industrial products from Mariupol that survived the occupation, the siege, and the destruction of the city, and Russia is now officially putting them up for sale,” Andriuschenko said.
